TASTE Introducing Quarterly Art Series
In a partnership with SAM Gallery: Art Sales and Rental, TASTE Restaurant will introduce a quarterly art series (June 18 – Sept. 21), featuring acclaimed photojournalist and Magnum photographer Burt Glinn. The inaugural art show is a tribute to the late photographer, highlighting a selection of 12 black-and-white photographs capturing historical images of life in Seattle including: the Jackson Street Jazz scene, the Seattle Tubing Society, a Seattle high school football team and cheerleaders, and art stars Andy Warhol, Edie Sedgwick and Chuck Wein.
Glinn, who was self-taught and resolutely a freelancer, photographed the Pacific Northwest extensively. He was a Seattle-based photographer for LIFE and Magnum Photos. His social, political and cultural photographs taken throughout Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and California span more than 35 years. Burt Glinn passed away on April 9, 2008
