Last Friday of the Month Wine Tasting -April 30

 

 

Our “Last Friday of the Month” Neighborhood Wine Tasting is  Friday, April 30th  in TASTE Restaurant’s Private Dining Room. We invite you to drop in anytime between 5-6:30pm to experience some of our most beloved Washington wines from Covington Cellar.

For a $10 tasting fee, our guests will receive 2  glasses of wine, detailed information and discussions on the wines tasted, a small savory bite form TASTE Restaurant after each flight as well as a  sweet bite upon leaving the tasting.

In addition to the tasting, guests will also have the  opportunity to purchase some of our finest small production wine at a special retail price, and should guests be interested in joining us for dinner, we would honor the purchase any of the featured wines at the reduced retail purchase price and waive any corkage fee.

April’s Wine Focus & Notes:

This month we are featuring  a winery that is very important to us – Covington Cellars. Meet winemaker, Morgan Lee, and relax and enjoy as we guide you through these tasty experiences and always exciting discussions.

Covington Cellars “Dress White” | 2007 | Semillon / Sauvignon Blanc)

Dress White is a reverse of a traditional Bordeaux white wine.  Semillon being the predominate grape.  Kilpsun Vineyard fruit from Red Mountain give this wine a beautiful balance of crisp fruit and clean acid.  Pears, fig, lemon with a creamy texture from the neutral oak aging make this wine refreshing. 

Covington Cellars Viognier | 2008

This Rhone white style is bright in the nose with tight restricted honey sickle and lime.  But the Yakima Valley fruit shows crisp citrus, tropical fruit and complexity with it’s mouth feel.  The pallet brings out pine nuts, butter, lime zest, honey with round texture.  Nice structure finishes with late easy acid.  

Two Vintners |  Syrah  | 2007

An elegant wine is blended with 10 % Cabernet Sauvignon and 2 % Red Mountain Cabernet Franc giving it ripe black and red fruit notes.  Starting with cherry, plum and supple sweet oak tannins.  The finish of black tea, pepper is deep and complex.   

 Covington Cellars “Starr”  |   Syrah  |  2005 

The Starr Syrah is a exotic wine with black fruit and savory chocolate that goes on and on.  The Walla Walla fruit is bright blackberry, current, black cherry, giving in to mocha, nutmeg and cloves.  Very light smoke is integrated with graceful tannins.
