Splash! Artisan Spirit Dinner – Postponed Until Further Notice

We’re shaking things up with our  Splash Winemakers Dinner and are bringing all kinds of surprises to the evening! Recently, the TASTE Team was inspired by El Zacatecano Mezcal and we couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate one of the oldest and best-selling mezcal brands in Mexico than with a specialty crafted Splash Dinner..

What’s the difference between Mezcal and Tequila? Well, you’re about to find out!

Enjoy an educational tasting of 3 Mezcals, lead by El Zacatecano Mezcal representatives and the TASTE team (including award winning bartender Duncan Chase). Join us for a guided tour of food and Mezcal pairings as well as a delicious cocktail demonstration and a few surprises along the way. Surprises, you may ask? Well, we can’t keep this a secret! Two locally beloved names are lending their support to El Zacatecano:  Gene Juarez and Edgar Martinez. And we are thrilled to let our guests know that Edgar Martinez will be on-site for the TASTE Artisan Spirit Dinner. Yes, that Edgar Martinez. You know the one we’re referring to. You gotta love this guy.

With a a little guidance, our guests will learn what excatly sets Mezcal apart from Tequilla, while enjoying a delicious dinner inspired by the spirit.

Una Vuelta                                                                                                                                   “a turn”

Created by TASTE bartender Tiffany Friday, the ‘Una Vuelta” was inspired by the idea of taking ingredients similar to a margarita and turning them with an elegant touch. The inspiration grew from a classic gin cocktail called the “Pegu Club” cocktail which was popular in with British soldiers in Rangoon during the 1930’s.

“I wanted to create a cocktail that was light, refreshing and that celebrated the herbaceous and delicate spice notes of the Reposado Mezcal”

2 ounces El Zacatecano Reposado Mezcal

1 ounce St. Clement Creole Shrub

1/2 ounce fresh lime juice

1 dash Regan’s orange bitters

1 dash Angostura bitters

Combine all ingredients in a shaker over ice.

Shake and strain “up” into a cocktail glass.

Garnish with an orange twist.

It’s the same unique and intimate dining experience with TASTE, however this time, we’re adding a few  twists!

TASTE Responsibly!
