An Intimate Evening with Mario Batali – Nov 4

Join us for an Intimate Evening with Mario Batali!

On Friday, November 4th, TASTE Restaurant and Events is thrilled to blend their culinary skills into celebrity chef Mario Batali style cuisine for a one-of-a kind, history making benefit at the Seattle Art Museum. This extraordinary epicurean evening will honor the star chef, as well as his mother Marilyn Batali, a Docent at SAM, and his father Armandino Batali, of Salumi fame. This unique evening at the museum will also include special guests Dale Chihuly and Thierry Rautureau of Rover’s and Luc restaurants.

The event, which is expected to raise $300,000 for the Seattle Art Museum, will offer guests an intimate evening with Mario himself and will be overseen by TASTE’s very own Executive Catering Chef Paul Rosquita and Executive Restaurant Chef Craig Hetherington, who will be providing a hand-picked selection of Batali-inspired gastronomic delights.

The endeavor was welcomed by the entire TASTE team with enthusiasm and passion as it’s a great responsibility to produce and serve a menu created by Mario Batali; we’re ready for the challenge!

To prepare for the significant undertaking, the TASTE Team has researched Mario’s cookbooks, consulted with his parents, and collaborated with Mario’s team and food stylist, providing an understanding of Mario’s mission and signature dishes.

Most importantly, a trip to the New York City was arranged to experience Mario’s food culture first hand. TASTE General Manager Kristin White , along with Chefs Paul and Craig packed their bags to experience the culinary adventure.

The threesome first visited Babbo, Mario’s pride and joy and a gastronomic superstar. Next up was Lupa, a Roman-style trattoria – raucous, festive, and delicious, then onto OTTO, a larger and more casual eatery with the focus on griddle-cooked pizza. Finally, they ventured to Eataly the largest artisanal Italian food and wine marketplaces in the world. All three locations provided a common thread of flavor and presentation emphasizing family-style and home-recipe Italian classics prepared with the Batali “spin.”

TASTE is honored and grateful to partner with SAM and the Batali’s on this extraordinary event.
