Special Exhibit Inspired Menu Items

The arrival of this once-in-a-lifetime exhibition is exciting the Seattle community and TASTE’s talented culinary team has created  French and Polynesian inspired menus that lends itself to traditional tastes of Tahiti and Paris. TASTE the paradise!

TASTE RESTAURANT

Chef Craig finds inspiration in Gauguin’s Parisian heritage and is excited to blend the rich flavors of Gauguin’s French background with the traditions of our Northwest fare.

A Few  Menu Items:

Lunch

Crispy chicken salad      |              shredded lettuces, sweet & sour vinaigrette, fried taro root

jambon sandwich           |              macrina roll, gruyere, red onion jam, frisee and green papaya salad

Grilled albacore               |              ginger sticky rice, mache, blackened red peppers, soy truffle reduction

Dinner

Seared scallops                |        chevre potato puree, dashi, pickled ginger and pine  

                                                                nut shuffle

Albacore poke                    |              bibb lettuce, fried potatoes, sesame

Housemade spam           |              sticky rice, spicy bacon fat, mache & Dijon

Will  finds inspiration in Gauguin’s colorful  palette choices  and  has enjoyed finding creative ways to translate the bright, tropical colors and tastes into his menu items.

Hiva Oa

11/2 ounces Hot Monkey Pepper Vodka

11/2 ounces Mango Puree

4 Basil Leaves

splash Fresh Lime juice

Muddle basil leaves in mixing glass with cubed ice. Add Hot Monkey, Mango puree, and lime juice.

Shake and strain into a cocktail glass.

Paul is inspired by the opportunity to use tropical ingredients traditionally not found in the TASTE Events menu and enjoys working with both the salty and sweet taste combinations.
